Audio Books - cv and audio demos

From the Red Room to the Red Queen

I love reading talking books and immersing myself in the characters. I am on the RNIB's list of readers and I'm a regular reader for Isis Publishing who produce unabridged audio books.

Clicking on the titles will take you to more information about each book and how to buy it on the Isis website and you can listen to audio extracts here.

The Red Room by Nicci French

"Jane Markham's narration enhances the 3-D reality of these totally convincing people, and Kit's questioning, particularly of the young child, Emily, combines professionalism with crisp suspense. Intellectually stimulating and totally compelling for the whole twelve-and-a-half hours."
The Observer

Demo 1: Nicci French's thriller The Red Room had many characters to get to grips with. There were at least three policemen and three male suspects as well as a child: -

A Summer Birdcage by Margaret Drabble

The Needle's Eye by Margaret Drabble

The Red Queen by Margaret Drabble

Demo 2: The first half of The Red Queen is in the voice of an 18th century Korean Princess - this is how the book opens.

On most occasions books that include many male characters are given to men to read but not always:
