From Newsbeat to Saga..
My first job in radio was presenting traffic news at AA Roadwatch before being invited to Radio One's Newsbeat as a newsreader and reporter.
In 1989 I became the first news editor at Oxford's Fox FM. Just months after the launch we were nominated for a Sony Radio Award - the following year we struck gold and brought home the Sony for Best News Daily News Programme THE FOX REPORT which I produced and presented.
Next I went to Radio Five (pre Five Live) and produced Danny Baker's Morning Edition before deciding to specialise as a presenter and moved to Classic FM to present the morning show for the Dutch version of Classic fm (in English!). Later I presented Classic Reports for Classic FM in the UK and was the first presenter of Classic Newsnight.
I was a holiday stand in presenter on Radio Four's The Afternoon Shift and produced and presented Britain Today at the World Service from time to time.
When Saga 105.7fm launched in the West Midlands I presented the Morning Show and the first two demos below come from my work on that programme.
Demo 1: The Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain
Demo 2: Rambling in central Birmingham with Bob Hunt, chairman of the Birmingham Ramblers
Demo 3: A compilation of snatches from Radio 4's Afternoon Shift, Saga 105.7fm and Radio One FM
